James has a wide-ranging litigation practice that includes fiduciary litigation and probate, will contests and trust disputes, builder and developer litigation, commercial litigation and appeals. James has also served as a mediator, and as an expert witness.
James believes in giving back to his community. He has served in many roles, including:
- Past Chairman of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce
- Former Vice President & Director of the Woodlands Bar Association
- Former Chairman of Leadership Montgomery County
- YMCA Volleyball Coach
- District Delegate – TX Annual Conference, United Methodist Church
James’ passion for Law Enforcement Officers and other first responders led him to the creation of State-wide legislation enabling Bar Associations’ “Helping Heroes” programs, providing free wills and related documents for police officers, firefighters, and other first responders. James has been a drafting attorney for this program since its creation.

James and his wife of 23 years, Janet reside in The Woodlands and have 2 daughters.
